The game of rounders has been played in England since Tudor times, with the earliest reference being in 1744 in “A Little Pretty Pocketbook” where it was called baseball. This is a sport primarily played in school but US baseball authoritarians agree it was likely their game derived from rounders.
Rounders is a fun game but it’s also a good exercise and can improve fitness.
Being outside in the sunshine and fresh air often gives you a mental boost. The better you are at hitting the ball the more exercise you get. If you’re a better hitter then you get to do more running!
Rounders is also good for hand-to- eye co-ordination. It’s a good way to make friends as many rounders clubs have a good social scene as well.
